PROMT Language Service Provider 9.0 is a client-server solution which allows translation companies and localization departments to easily distribute core functions between the server and client workspaces. All translations are carried out on the server; only the client applications need to be installed on users’ workstations.
PROMT Language Service Provider 9.0 translates between following languages:

PROMT LSP (Language Service Provider) 9.0 is designed for operation in Local Area Networks (LAN).
The server side hosts the translation kernel, dictionary databases for each translation direction, and personal user settings that determine access privileges for every user of the network version of the system. The client applications are installed on the user workstations. This setup allows for the centralized administration of the entire system and gives the administrator the ability to control user access to the applications of the system, as well as to translation directions, dictionaries, profiles, and Translation Memory databases.
Control over the quality of translation
PROMT LSP (Language Service Provider) 9.0 offers unique features to achieve the desired quality of translation. Dictionary databases included in PROMT LSP 9.0 have been organized according to a new principle: now they are grouped into profiles, which makes it significantly simpler for the user to select the resources of the system to translate specialized texts. The profiles include dictionaries and Translation Memory databases. In addition, users can enable their own dictionaries and Translation Memory databases to PROMT LSP 9.0 at any time. When working on a translation, users have all the necessary lexicon and terminology pertaining to the subject of the text at hand. This expands the possibility for choosing the needed lexical meanings and terms and greatly increases translation accuracy. The combined settings created by the user can be saved as new profiles, in addition to the profiles that come standard with the system.
Integrating the Translator into Microsoft Office
PROMT Translator tool or tab is added to the applications of the Microsoft Office 2000–2007 suite. This allows you to translate documents directly in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Translating Web sites
You can translated foreign-language web pages directly in Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. The translator plugin can translate a selected portion of a Web page or a Web page in its entirety. The original formating will be preserved in the translation along with all the URLs and images on the page.
Batch file translation
Use PROMT Batch Translator to translate several documents at once. The application will create a document queue, each with its own translation settings. This will save you a great deal of time, because:
—you don’t need to open each file to assign translation settings to it;
—documents are translated in the background;
—alongside the translation, a TMX (Level 1 and Level 2) TM database is created, which you can use later for working with similar documents.
Translating messages in instant messengers
Instant messengers have become an important tool in business communications. PROMT LSP 9.0 can be integrated into the four most popular instant message clients: ICQ, QIP, MSN Messenger, and Skype. The messages you send and receive can be translated by pressing a key combination directly in your chat window or in a separate window, depending on your preferences.
Translating PDF files
PROMT LSP 9.0 can be built into Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat Pro. The translation will be displayed in a separate window without retaining the original formatting of the document. In addition, you can translate PDF documents in PROMT Translator or PROMT Batch Translator. You can then save the translation to an RTF file.

Enabling specialized dictionaries from PROMT Collections
A collection is a set of specialized dictionaries for various subjects and fields of science and business, combined into profiles. Using collections you can update the basic dictionary of the PROMT application you have installed with specialized lexicon and terminology, which will improve the quality of translation.
In addition to dictionaries, profiles also include Translation Memory databases and other translation settings. Choosing and installing the desired collection or selected profiles from it will tune the application to accurate translation of terminology in texts from specific fields covering specific subjects.
Note, however, that collections are purchased separately and cannot be used without PROMT software.
Entering dictionary entries from a file
Creating user dictionaries
For accurate translation of highly specialized texts we recommend creating your own dictionaries.
Users who already have their own glossaries can now use them to quickly create user dictionaries for PROMT LSP 9.0. The process of converting glossaries into user dictionaries is fully automated. To add new entries to a dictionary you can choose from two editing modes: Simple (with the dictionary displayed as a table, where you can add a new term and its translation) and Advanced (intended for users with more sophisticated linguistic background), which offers a number of additional features. For collaboration on translation projects, the system offers a complete set of tools for working with PROMT dictionaries.
With these tools you can:
—obtain statistics for dictionary contents;
—edit dictionary properties;
—compare dictionaries;
—merge two dictionaries of the same translation direction.
Using online dictionaries
Translation variants from Multitran online databases To look up a word or phrase that is not found in PROMT dictionaries, or for additional translations, you can use Multitran online word databases. You can immediately add translations from these databases to your user dictionary and use them at any time.
Creating Translation Memory databases
You can store translated texts in the Translation Memory database and retrieve them later. This saves time in translating similar documents (contracts, technical documentation, etc.)
